Britney awarded more time with children

Arriving at the courthouse with media helicopters hovering above, Britney Spears made an appearance at a custody hearing this afternoon. Wearing jeans and sunglasses, Spears was sworn under oath for testimony before the press was asked to leave. The closed-door hearing ended 41 minutes later with Spears being granted one overnight visit per week. The judge denied the popstar's request that her mother play the role of court-appointed monitor. Spears left the courtroom visibly upset. Kevin Federline's lawyer said he met with Spears's lawyers during the lunch hour Thursday. The attorneys told the court that they all agreed to "slightly increase" Spears's visitation. Both parties are due back in court on October 26.
