Candace Parker

Candace Parker was the first draft pick for the WNBA's Sparks in 2008. In her first WNBA game Candace Parker the record of most scores by a rookie player in a debut game.



it shouldn't be a surprise that Candace Parker is dropping hoops around her completion in the WNBA ever since high school (when she played for Naperville Central High School girls basketball) she has been a phenomenal basketball player. Not only was she on Illinois' all-state and all-area team for four years. She is the first person to win USA today player of the year two years in a row and she is the third person (behind Marion Jones and LeBron James) to win back to back Gatorade Awards.



in 2004 Candace Parker become the first women to win the McDonald's High School All-American Game to win the slam dunk contest.


Candace Parker went to the the University of Tennessee. But she didn't play basketball her freshman year due to injury. She played for the Tennessee Lady Vols (University of Tennessee's women's basketball team) in her sophomore year.



that year Candace Parker became Southeastern Conference Rookie of the Year.

in 2006 Candace Parker was the only college student to play for the American team in the 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women.

the next year she became the fastest University of Tennessee Lady Vols player to reach a thousand points.



in 2007 and 2008 Candace Parker and her team mates won the NCAA championship. Candace Parker was name Most Outstanding Player for both championships, making her one of only 3 women to be award MOP two years back in a row.



Candace Parker graduated with a 3.35 in a major for sports management.

In 2008 Candace Parker played for the USA Olympics women's basketball team.
