Virgin test for Indonesian GP3 driver

Seventeen year-old Indonesian Rio Haryanto has secured a Formula One test after completing his first GP3 season. The Virgin team offered the prize at the beginning of the year to the driver that finished highest in GP3 in a Manor Racing-entered car.

The Manor team share race shop facilities with the Virgin outfit and is run by Virgin team principal John Booth.

Haryanto came to GP3 after dominating the 2009 Formula BMW Pacific series with 11 wins. He clinched one victory in GP3 this year and took a further two podiums, finishing the season fifth in the standings. His three Manor team mates, James Jakes, Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and Adrien Tambay, finished in eighth, 15th and 20th respectively.

Haryanto's test will take place after the end of the Formula One season.
