Nicole and Keith Welcome a Baby Girl!

Nicole and Keith welcomed their baby girl to the world this morning. Sunday Rose Kidman Urban weighs in at 6 lbs, 7.5 oz.

"Husband Keith was by Nicole's side, and mother and baby are very well," said a spokesman for the famous twosome.

Congrats to the couple.

She Shows!

The ACM Awards brought out many a country star last night, but most importantly, the Las Vegas orange carpet brought out Nicole's baby bump!

"We're very excited. We're very pregnant and good." - Nicole Kidman

Kate to step in for pregnant Nicole

Kate Winslet is stepping in to take over the role vacated by Nicole Kidman in The Reader. Sources confirm that, in fact, Winslet was originally offered the role but couldn't commit due to schedule conflicts. Kidman pulled out of the film after announcing her pregnancy. "Kate was offered it first before Nicole but couldn't do it but the dates clashed with commitments to Revolutionary Road," says an insider. "So the dates changed, Nicole then got pregnant and now it has come back to Kate." Based on German author Bernhard Schlink's bestselling 1995 novel – and Oprah's Book Club selection – the film is about an affair between a teenage boy and an older woman in post-WWII Germany. "Actually everyone is happy now – Nicole as she has a baby on the way, Kate because she has this great role she originally wanted to do, and the filmmakers are too," says the source. When asked by a reporter at Australia’s Herald Sun when Kidman is due, her mother Janelle hinted it may be around the star’s 41st birthday. “I think it's in July," Janelle, a nurse, said.

Nicole and Keith confirm baby news

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are expecting their first child, her rep confirms. "The couple are thrilled," Catherine Olim says in a statement. For Kidman, this will be her third child. She and her former husband, Tom Cruise adopted two children during their marriage: Isabella, now 15, and Connor, 12. As for where Kidman and Urban, who will be a first-time parent, may bring up their impending arrival, the couple, though both from Australia, purchased a farm near Leipers Fork, Tenn., a half-hour southwest of Nashville, in 2007. The couple, who have been married 18 months, wed, after a yearlong courtship, on June 25, 2006, in a candlelit ceremony at Sydney, Australia's Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel on St. Patrick's Estate at Manly. Guests at the black-tie event included Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts and Rupert Murdoch. Before the couple even started dating, Kidman made her desire for more children clear. In April 2005, she told reporters that her biological clock was ticking. "I have got hormones running through my system," she said. "That is why I sit wriggling, saying I want to have a baby."

Nicole drops out of film; baby rumors continue

Nicole Kidman's rep has spent the last week tirelessly shooting down reports that the flame-haired actress is pregnant as "unreliable gossip" - but we're not buying it for one second, and here's why: Page Six has heard from extremely well-placed sources that the Oscar-winning Aussie - who's suffered miscarriages in the past - not only has a bun in the oven but is so concerned about the welfare of her unborn child that she's taking a break from her film career and has dropped out of director Stephen Daldry's post-World War II Germany drama "The Reader," which she was supposed to start shooting this month. The movie is based on Bernhard Schlink's prize-wining book about a man who carries a longtime sexual obsession for an older woman who's later prosecuted for war crimes after it emerges she was a member of the SS and a guard at Auschwitz. But the Weinstein Company, which is producing, will now have to get another leading lady to join Ralph Fiennes and Bruno Ganz and a largely German cast, sources said. Weinstein flack Matthew Frankel said: "I am being told that the status on 'The Reader' has not changed." He declined to be more specific. On Friday, a reporter for Daily Telegraph in Sydney, Australia, asked Kidman point blank whether she was in the family way. She "refused to answer," the paper said. But our insider said: "Of course, everyone knows she's pregnant and lying about it." Another source says a Vanity Fair editor was recently overheard talking about pushing up Kidman's photo shoot for the magazine's annual Hollywood issue. "It's because the costumes she's set to wear won't fit her much longer," the spy said.

Nicole's rep denies pregnancy

Nicole Kidman is not pregnant, her Australian press representative has said. Kidman's expecting a baby was first reported by the U.K.'s Daily Mail, which said The Hours Oscar winner, 40, had told friends and family members over Christmas that she and her husband of 18 months, Keith Urban, were expecting their first child together. But the Melbourne Herald Sun quotes Kidman's Australian publicist as denying the Mail's story. "It is incorrect," the spokeswoman tells the paper. "She must have had about 30 babies by now." As for Kidman, says the rep, "She's in Australia making a film" – director Baz Luhrman's epic Australia, costarring Hugh Jackman – "and her family are in Australia. She's happily ensconced away somewhere having a few days break. It's the silly season. As far as we're concerned, it's another rumor out of London." Still, a friend of Kidman's tells the Herald Sun it is "conceivable" that the actress is nearly three months pregnant. "She did have a small baby bump a month ago, so it would be reasonable that she'd now be three months and telling her friends and family," the unnamed friend is quoted as saying. Kidman and former husband Tom Cruise adopted two children during their 1990-2001 marriage: Isabella, now 14, and Connor, 12.

Is Nicole expecting?

Nicole Kidman is pregnant, according to the Daily Mail. The Golden Compass actress, 40, told friends and family over the Christmas holiday that she and husband Keith Urban, 40, are expecting, the UK newspaper reported. Kidman and the country singer have been married since June 2006. There are no details on when the baby is due. She has two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise – Isabella, 15, and Connor, 12 – but their relationship is strained. "They call me Mom," Cruise's new wife, Katie Holmes, said recently. Kidman has talked openly about wanting another baby. "I'm yearning to have one," she told Vanity Fair in September. "I think I would be very sad if I wasn't able to have a baby. Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly." In an interview in February on Oprah's Oscar Special, Russell Crowe asked the actress if she planned on getting pregnant. "I hope so," she replied. When Crowe remarked that he'd like to see Kidman "walking around barefoot and pregnant," the actress agreed – "I'd like to see that, too." Kidman told Vogue last year: "I always thought I'd eventually live on a Fijian island. I love the idea of being in a sarong, with hair down to my bum and kids following my around and hanging out." After her split from Cruise in 2001, Kidman admitted she'd suffered an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in miscarriage at one point in their 10-year marriage. "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies. And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic," she told Vanity Fair. Three months into their marriage, Urban checked himself into the Betty Ford clinic for three months to treat alcohol addiction. "We had to dig really deep," Kidman has said. Kidman begins an eight-week shoot for The Reader in Berlin next month, but after that has no movie projects lined up, the Daily Mail reported.

Nicole wins perfume suit

Nicole Kidman has come out of a court case smelling like a rose – or, at least, Chanel No. 5. The Oscar winner and Chanel model, 40, has accepted damages from the British newspaper the Daily Telegraph for wrongly reporting that she had breached provisions in her promotional contract for Chanel No. 5 perfume, the Associated Press reports. Kidman's lawyer, John Kelly, said his client suffered significant embarrassment and distress over the fabricated Telegraph story, which was published last month. The newspaper's "Spy" column said that when Kidman hit the U.K. to promote her new movie with Daniel Craig, The Golden Compass, she carried a bottle of a rival fragrance. Kidman was not in the London court on Friday to hear the decision, and details of the settlement – which Kelly termed "substantial" – are not being disclosed. The attorney did say, however, that Kidman would donate whatever damages she'll be awarded to the United Nations Development Fund for Women. He also said that the newspaper had determined that its source for the story had made it up.

Nicole files lawsuit against British paper

Nicole Kidman is striking back at a British newspaper over its claims that she very publicly ditched Chanel No. 5 -- for which she's the spokesmodel -- in favor of another perfume. In a suit filed in London, the actress says that the Daily Telegraph made "grossly defamatory" statements when it reported that she was using a Jo Malone scent while pushing her new flick, "The Golden Compass," "dabbing it on whenever she had a moment." The paper suggested that Nic was jeopardizing her contract with Chanel by using the Jo Malone. Kidman's lawyers are seeking an immediate retraction. The Telegraph had no comment.

Nicole opens up about her kids

Nicole Kidman's children refuse to call her mom. The Oscar-winning actress says Isabella, 14, and 12-year-old Connor - her two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise - are reluctant to use the traditional parental moniker and instead call her Nicole, much to her annoyance. She told the UK TV show GMTV, "My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it." The Golden Compass star recently revealed that she is unhappy Isabella and Connor are being raised as Scientologists in LA. Catholic Nicole lives in Nashville with her second husband, Keith Urban, while her children live with ex Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes. "Yes, they're being raised as Scientologists. I don't want to go there," Kidman says. "My daughter and son, their life is molded by the way I live. If I wasn't willing to take on that responsibility, I shouldn't have adopted them. Then it can be argued that I should never have divorced, and that's true, too, but sometimes you don't have a decision in that. People fall out of love, they do... When children are teenagers, they have a say in where they want to be. Los Angeles is a big draw, and I'm looking to get a place there so we can share more."

Nicole Kidman backs U.N. campaign

The United Nations women's agency launched a campaign Monday backed by actress Nicole Kidman to gather signatures on an internet petition rejecting violence against women and urging action to stop it. The launch of the petition titled "Say NO to violence against women" is part of a 16-day U.N.-backed campaign to raise awareness about the issue and urge governments to make it a priority. Kidman, a goodwill ambassador for UNIFEM, did not attend the launch at U.N. headquarters but said in a statement she was among the first to sign, calling violence against women "an appalling human rights violation."

Nicole and Keith's house on the market

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's "private, yet convenient...tranquil celebrity retreat" in one of Nashville's gated communities is on the market, the singer's rep confirms. "They've found land within Nashville and they're excited about moving into their new place," says his spokesperson. The four-bedroom, five-bath house carries a $2.5 million price tag along with a gym, pool and spa.

Nicole was engaged between Tom and Keith

Nicole Kidman says she was engaged to a mystery man in between breaking up with Tom Cruise and marrying Keith Urban. "I didn't really want a relationship," Kidman says in Vanity Fair. "I just wanted my kids to have me, and I didn't feel comfortable having some person in that small hubbub. And then I got engaged to somebody...but it just wasn't right. I wasn't ready. We weren't ready." When pressed for details, the actress said, "I get engaged and I get married - that's my thing. I'm interested in a very, very deep connection." Sources say the mystery man was Lenny Kravitz: "They were even house-hunting together for a while." A rep for Kravitz said, "I cannot confirm or deny it." The Oscar winner says she has no regrets about her marriage to Tom Cruise. "My agents told me, 'Once you become Mrs. Tom Cruise, you do know your career is going to die,'" says Kidman. "I was appalled. I was like, 'Hello? I'm in love, and I don't care if it's shooting myself in the foot. I'd much rather be married and have a family."

Nicole reveals miscarriage

Nicole Kidman reveals a side seldom seen - lonely on the night she won her Oscar and enigmatic when it comes to recounting her attempts to bear a child with Tom Cruise. "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," Kidman tells Vanity Fair for its October issue. "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really traumatic. And that's when we would adopt [daughter] Bella." In the interview, Kidman is described as cryptic when she goes on to say, "There's a complicated background to that, given that I never speak much about many things. One day maybe that story will be told." Two years later, the Cruises adopted son Connor, now 12.

Asked how she felt when she won her 2003 Best Actress Oscar for The Hours, Kidman says, "It felt big. It felt lonely and big. You're in a hotel and you're like, okay well, I'm sitting in this big suite with an Oscar, and I still don't have a life. What is wrong with me? It hit home that I needed to get a life. Who do I jump on the bed with, and celebrate with, and order pancakes with?" She adds, "That was painful, not having that person to share it with. That's why it was more for my mom and dad and my kids. But even the kids were young enough that they were like, 'Oh, cool. Move on. Not interested.'"

It was not until a 2005 Australian promotional event in LA that she met country star - and Queensland native - Keith Urban. "I think we were two lonely people. I would probably say that two very lonely people managed to meet at a time when they could open themselves to each other," she says. "We were a mixture of frightened and brave." They married on June 25, 2006: four months later, he was in rehab. "It was just another twist in my life. Here it goes. Hold on, and off we go!" she says of Urban's treatment. "But it was very painful, deeply painful. We were in a very, very, very bad, painful place, and have managed to step through it, and I hope that gives some people some hope who may be in the same place. And that's enough said. Anything else is overindulgent and unnecessary right now. And I think it jinxes it, in a way, and that's why I don't go on about my enormous feelings for this man." Still, Kidman - who admits she's "yearning" to give birth, and that Urban "has been getting there slowly" - also says, "I've learned an enormous amount having a relationship with someone who is in recovery. I'm more willing to walk it with him. The two of us are very committed to our relationship."

Nicole Kidman to star in Nazi film

Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes are set to co-star on a Nazi drama from the filmmaker who directed her to an Oscar in The Hours. The Reader is set in postwar Germany and follows the story of Michael Berg, who is 15 years old when he begins a long, obsessive affair with Hanna, an enigmatic older woman. He never learns much about her, and when she disappears one day, he expects never to see her again. But to his horror, he discovers that she is a defendant in a Nazi war crimes trial, and it soon becomes clear that she is guilty of an unspeakable crime. Production is set to begin next month in Germany - maybe Kidman will run into her ex, Tom Cruise, who is there filming a Nazi flick himself.
