Ok so she took time of to have a life for herself and her kids fair enough (ok part of me want to be selfish and say she should have been making music but really taking time of for one's family is a good thing)


And she has new music in the works that great. Though she says she's not sure if it will be an album. Hmmm EP or maybe she will just release singles online.

I'm just happy to hear that she is working on some recordings but I have to say the miseducation of Lauryn Hill was a great album from front to back and it would be great to see her pull that off again. But if she thinks it's best to release her music in a different format then who am I to say different.



Listen to her talk I have to say Ms. Hill sounds different then I realize that the last time I heard her speak was years ago and she spoke as someone in their youth (20's) and right now she's more grown and speaks as such.


Hopefully this is the start of a real comeback since we had a few times that Lauryn Hill stepped back on the scene only to disappear again soon after.

Kid Sister

Rapper Kid Sister was born Melisa Young on July 3rd 1980 in Markham, Illinois.




Kid Sister started rapping in October of 2005, when she MC a party held by Flosstradamus, a DJ duo that happens to have her brother J2K is half of. In 2007 she was one of a thousand new artist featured in URB magazine's The Next 1000. She then soon hooked up with Kayne West and fame and riches soon game her way as she dropped her debut album Ultraviolet in 2009...



...Well not really, even though Kid Sis was starting getting lots of good reviews and has worked with some big name people she still had to grind and even works at a baby clothing store to make ends meet as she rocks the stage at night.


Kid Sister is interracial and is part Black, White and Native American.

Jean Grae

Nah, nah, nah I aint talking about the telekinetic chick from the X-men I'm talking about one of the hottest rappers in the game, Jean Grae.

Jean Grae (who's birthname is Tsidi Ibrahim) was born on November 27th 1976 in Cape Town, South Africa and grew up in New York.

Music runs in Jean Grae's family, her father is Jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim and her mother is Jazz vocalist Sathima Bea Benjamin.

Jean Grae career started around 96 preforming under such names as Da Easter Bunny, What What? and Major Woody. Jean Grae was part of the hip-hop group Natural Resource. Not only di Jean Grae (then going by the stage name What? What?) rap but she was also a producer going by the name Run Run Shaw. During this time she also hooked up with the Brooklyn Academy crew.


In 1998 Natural Resource was depleted it was then when the rapper known as What? What? would change her name to Jean Grae and yes she did base her name on the Marvel Comic book character.

In 2002 J.Grae released the LP Attack of the Attacking Things. In 2003 JeanGrae joined the record label Babygrande released the Bootleg of the Bootleg Ep and in 2004 she released the LP This week.

In 2005 Jean Grae joined Talib Kweli record label Blacksmith Records. In 2007 Jean Grae released The Orchestral Files. In 2008 Jean Grae released an album she had been working on with 9th Wonder for years called Jeanius. That same year hip-hop producer duo Blue Sky Black Death made the album The Evil Jeanius which they sampled Jean's raps with beats they produced.

In 2008 Jean Grae also made news when she told people that she was going to retire form hip-hop and start a family. also that year Jean Grae put an ad on Craigslist stating that for $800 she would rap 16 bars

Negra Li is a rapper/singer from Brazil.

Negra Li was born Liliane de Carvalho, in Sao Paulo, Brazil September 17 1979.

Negra Li is a member of the rap group RZO (Reação Zona Oeste) around 2003, RZO is a group this is credited as being on of the driving forces of bringing hip-hop to Brazil in the 80's.

Negra Li went solo in 2004 with her album Guerreiro, Guerreira (which translates into Warrior, Warrior)

at least people can be happy with the fact that she has re-united with her former bandmates the Fugees who all appeared on Dave Chappelle's Block Party, the 2005 BET music awards, a European tour and in February the Fugees performed a Concert in Hollywood that was broadcast across the web on the Verizon Wireless website.




In the Feb issue of Essence Lauryn Hill stated she would like to be referred to as Ms. Hill because she she is a wise woman and deservesthe respected and honestly she couldn't be more right
