A Night At The Met

So, last night, major happenings in NYC! The Costume Institute Gala brought out many an A-lister to The Met and I just happened to be eyeing the red carpet as the stars were arriving. And by happened to be there, I mean I walked by on my way home and was across the street, stuck behind paparazzi and other ecstatic, not to mention screaming and waving (yes I waved) fans like myself. Although I didn't get a chance to see my love George Clooney (so upset!), I did show up just in time to catch a glimpse of actual superheroes welcoming guests at the bottom of The Met stairs, Mr. Big, Jason Lewis (hard to believe, but even more good-looking in person) the Beckhams, Tom and Katie, J.Lo, MKO (oh sorry, aka my abbreviation for Mary-Kate Olsen, who I'm sure just loved hearing my shout out to her and her sister), Mr. Lagerfeld himself, Blake Lively (so excited to see Serena considering I was missing Monday's ep. of Gossip Girl to star gaze), Valentino, Bonjovi, Eva Longoria and the list goes on.

Nicest/biggest smiles/longest waves to the crowd - J.Lo, Valentino and Tom Cruise (maybe it was just an act considering all of his bad publicity lately, but he did look genuinely nice)

Celeb who I wish I could have seen turn around - David Beckham (A bus decided to block my view, just as his gorgeousness turned toward the crowd)

Biggest undercover entrance - Karl Lagerfeld

Most surprising duo - Vogue's Andre Leon Talley, arriving toward the end, with Venus Williams at his side.

Best dressed - A tie between Katie Holmes and Eva Longoria

The only good picture I was able to capture - J.Lo and Marc Anthony

My list of who I saw...yes, I know I'm a nerd, but a celeb-obsessed nerd, so much cooler!

From Scarlett's engagment surprise and Katie's blue heels, to Gisele's arm candy and Victoria's choice of dress, here are a few other snapshots of the celebs at the Superheroes: Fiction and Fantasy gala hosted by Giorgio Armani, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Anna Wintour.

No nudity for Julia

Enjoy seeing Julia Roberts in a bathing suit in her upcoming political drama Charlie Wilson's War (out December 21) because it is unlikely to happen again. Joining the ranks of Brad Pitt, the mother of three now says she prefers not to prance around in the buff on the big screen. “Listen, there's a reason why you don't see me naked me in movies, you don't see me running around in bathing suits in movies," Roberts, 40, told E!'s The Daily 10. "It's just not my thing." (No kidding: Roberts famously used a body double to shoot nude scenes in Pretty Woman.) Separately, interviewer Sal Masekela revealed an obscure fact about the mother of three (who welcomed son Henry in June): she almost shared an on-screen kiss with Don Johnson on Miami Vice. Roberts was once slated to appear on the show as the character Polly Wheeler. She jokingly chastised Masekela for raising the issue: "Do not show a clip!" she pleaded. "Let me tell you something: I was falling ill while in Miami and ended up with spinal meningitis. Got sick down there, the sickest I've ever been in my life. There's a little-known fact."

Julia holds her own with paparazzi

Julia Roberts, a mother of three, has made it clear – in her actions and now in words – that she doesn't like paparazzi staking out schools in order to get photos. Roberts, 40, recently chased down a photographer in her SUV near a school and gave him an earful, in an incident that was caught on video and shown on TMZ. Asked by Access Hollwood for Friday's show what she said to the man, Roberts replied, "I just told him a school is not a place for a grown man to be crawling around trying to take pictures." She added, "If you want to take a picture of a person, then go to an adult place. Go to the coffee shop, go to the grocery store, go to the restaurant. Don't stake out someone's children's church, school or playground environment." In the recent incident, Roberts, who did not have her kids with her, pursued a car of photographers and got them to pull over. Telling one man to shut off his camera, she said, "I want to talk to you about the fact that you're at a school where children go. Turn it off!"

Julia Roberts honored

Some of Hollywood's biggest stars turned out Friday night to pay tribute to one of its own - actress Julia Roberts. The Oscar winner declared she was most happy in her roles as wife and mother. "I really am just a girl from a little town in Georgia, who had this giant, absurd dream," said Roberts, who accepted the 22nd annual American Cinematheque Award at a benefit dinner in Beverly Hills. Many of Roberts's current and former co-stars were on hand to offer praise to the 39-year-old mother of three, who arrived on the red carpet in a cinched-waist black Diane von Furstenberg dress. "Everybody loves Julia Roberts. Everybody, everybody, everybody," said Tom Hanks, who stars with her in the upcoming Charlie Wilson's War. The Erin Brockovich star thanked her husband, Danny Moder, for widening her life - and her hips. The ceremony will air on December 5.

Julia welcomes baby number three

"The Moder family is doing great," the actress's rep confirmed. Henry is brother to two-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus.
